This urban mixed-use destination extends between an existing highway and canal in Hangzhou, China – a city of 6.4 million people. The 90,350 sm center includes a 22,000 sm hyper-market, 64,000 sm of retail and restaurants, a 12 screen cinema and two levels of below-grade parking for 2,600 cars. The center sets a new standard of development by establishing strong environmental construction guidelines including waterfront and wetland preservation, planted roofs, energy efficient fixtures, day lighting strategies, and solar panel arrays.
