Project: Alcoa Global Data Center

Client: IBM Global IT Transition Services

Responding to security requirements, schedule, and cost efficiency, the data operations, backup, and engineering equipment were placed on grade within a concrete enclosure that elevated IT staff operations to 13,000 GSF of second level office space. In the office space, daylight is enhanced, while underfloor air distributions cools the work environment. The data center is designed for expansion at a projected load of 50w/sq ft and is supported by an engineering system with an N+1 level of redundancy. The project was designed as a dedicated, mission-critical facility for data processing and information services. It operates 24/7 and does not cease operations in the event of a power failure.
