Hope Lodge Update

On Tuesday, April 8th, Harkins joined the American Cancer Society, JP2 Architects, and other project partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of Hope Lodge in Baltimore, MD.

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge provides a free home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers who are undergoing active treatment and live more than 40 miles from their treatment center. These lodges ease the financial burden of travel and lodging, allowing patients to focus on their recovery. The Baltimore Hope Lodge has outgrown its current space and is expanding across the street into the old Ronald McDonald House. More cancer patients and their caregivers will find a supportive place to stay during their life-saving treatments at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Johns Hopkins, thanks to the expanded facility.

We are renovating the existing three-story building into a state-of-the-art, 34-room facility, increasing capacity by 30%. Renovations will include upgrades to the courtyard, mechanical systems, guest rooms, kitchen and dining areas, laundry facilities, fitness and wellness rooms, and ACS administrative spaces.
