JP2 Architects - Bolstering Growth Rooted in Community-Based Design

Founded in 2006 by longtime colleagues Jamie Pett, John Hutch, and Gordon Godat, JP2 Architects (JP2) was born out of a shared desire to reengage with the full design process, from concept to completion. Leaving behind well-respected firms, the trio set out to create a practice that combined the depth of experience found in large international firms with the personalized, hands-on service of a boutique studio. Nearly two decades later, JP2 is an award-winning firm recognized for its ability to deliver innovative, high-quality design with the attentiveness and agility of a smaller practice.

We are a small group that collectively do great things. Our individual superpowers complement and reinforce one another. At JP2, everyone buys into the design intent for every project and unlike other firms, we carry our team through the project, so we are all vested in our clients,” states Principal/Partner, Gordon Godat.

Godat shares that while the firm remains rooted in community-based design, it has evolved to build its capacity while maintaining its culture.

JP2 recently named Tenille Jordan as partner – the first since the firm’s inception and the first woman on the leadership team. This complements the recent alignment with The Verve Partnership, (Verve) an all-female commercial interior architectural design firm led by Founding Principal Kelly Ennis, announced in early 2025.
